Warriors Lift the Trophy Again

The Golden State Warriors have lifted the NBA trophy once again, the second time in three years, this time after beating the Cleveland Cavaliers 4-1, culmating a 16-1 record in the playoffs.  The Warriors are the best team in the league, it is impossible to deny that, they have been the best team in the league for the last three years. They have set all kinds of records, ironically, the year they broke the regular season wins record with 73, they didnt win the title.

The Warriors  lost the title in the finals last year after they held a 3-1 lead, a loss that could be blamed on several factors including very iffy officiating that definitely contributed to the Cavs comeback.  The Warriors were already the best team in the league but the addition of Kevin Durant took the team to a whole new level.  Durant is one of the best players in the league and his addition to the team made them unbeatable, at least in a seven game series.

The Warriors should have ended with a perfect 16-0 record in the playoffs, but the Cavs put forth a mammoth effort in game four to prevent that from happening.  The Warriors went home for game five and although the Cavs looked like the better team for some part of the first half, the Warriors were able to prevail and take home the title.

This past season will be one to remember as Golden State could very well be setting up a dynasty. No one can stop them and it is going to take a ton to take them down. Not even LeBron James is good enough to stop this group of players.  The Warriors should repeat the title next season, the only thing that could prevent that from happening is injury or perhaps free agency. Other than that, the Warriors are simply too good.
